Banknorth wants to help you take care of your eyes, and we've got you covered. We offer a vision plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota that includes annual eye exams and discounts on frames, lenses, and contacts.
Plan Overview
- 1 Annual Eye Exam covered in full while in-network.
- 2 One new set of lenses per year is covered.
- 3 Contact Lenses are also covered.
- 4 Benefits Maximum: $1,000 per member per benefit period.

You can choose any provider for vision care, but be aware that prices may be higher if you select a non-member provider. Choosing a member provider will give you the lowest prices with the best care.
Annual Exams
Annual vision exams are important for staying on top of your eye health. Your plan allows for one vision exam a year.
If you see a provider in-network, your plan will cover in full.
If your vision provider is out-of-network, the plan will cover up to $60.
Frames and Glasses
You can choose any provider for vision care, but be aware that prices may be higher if you select a non-member provider. Choosing a member provider will give you the lowest prices with the best care.

You are covered for new frames once every other year. The plan will cover in-network purchases up to $100 and out-of-network purchase up to $78.
Contact Lenses
Prefer contact lenses over glasses? No problem! The plan will cover contact lenses, too. See below for rates:
- Elective contact lenses are covered once a year. Covered in full once every year after a maximum $60 copay.
- Medically necessary contact lenses are covered at 100% in-network and up to $320 out-of-network.
